Federal Court can be daunting. Understandably, clients are more comfortable retaining counsel experienced in Federal Court litigation. Dana Slater was a Law Clerk to The Honorable Stanley R. Chesler, then a Federal Judge Magistrate, who has been recently elevated to the position of United States District Court Judge. As law clerk, Ms. Slater helped the Judge prepare opinions on a host of substantive decisions, discovery problems and procedural issues. In the Western District of Virginia, she has been part of the defense team in two capital murder trials conducted in Federal Court. In one case, the death penalty was successfully avoided; the other case is ongoing.
 

Ms Slater's experience in Virginia Federal Court has spanned the gamut. She has appeared in drug distribution cases, drug conspiracy cases, and violation of probation and supervisory release cases, as well as in petty offense cases.

Alan Silber has appeared as counsel in both criminal and civil cases in various Federal courts across the country. A member of the bar of nine Federal District Courts, Mr. Silber has been admitted to another dozen Federal District Courts pro hac vice. He has appeared as plaintiff’s counsel in complex class action cases, civil RICO cases, and legal malpractice litigations. Additionally, Mr. Silber has appeared and litigated in five United States Courts of Appeal and in the United States Supreme Court.
